It was actually called Dick's Mobil Service, not Dirk's. The 1948 city directory lists the business at this address with Emile R. Dobbelmann as the junior manager. The 1950 city directory lists Larry's Mobile Service gas station at this address (3800 3rd Ave). It was later an ice cream shop called Taystee Freeze in the early 1960s.
