The first mention in newspapers in the Star Tribune archives was in 1946. It had an alternative name of St Paul Liquor House, Inc. The owners were Sam Kozberg and his brother Jake Kozberg. Two clerks included David Leavitz and John W. Johnson. The proprietor in 1963 was Leon Weingarten. The current building on the lot was built in 1977.
