Nile-Congo Restaurant This restaurant is listed along Garner Road in Raleigh, but neither the currently digitized City Directories nor the Sanborn maps appear to cover the block in which it was located, and thus its location cannot be verified. The 1960 City Directory does, however, confirm its existence under the entry for Chesley Bowens, who was a cook at the restaurant. The only other source of information I could find on the internet was a City Data website post by oldcodgette58 who describes the Nile-Congo as a drive-in restaurant that sold fried chicken boxes. —Andrew S.
