Thompson's Esso Servicenter This service station is listed in the 1961 Green Book at 2425 Fayetteville Street, Durham. The student report makes no mention of its status, but shows an aerial image of a gas station. The students' Final List identifies it as demolished. Though the service station is just beyond the edge of page 212 in the 1950 Sanborn map, the 1961 City Directory lists it. The building currently occupying the site has a construction date of 1957 on the Durham County tax card. Thompson's Esso Servicenter is likely still extant. —Andrew S. Edmonds
