George L. Gillespie Jr. Statement, 16 March 1866
Office Chief Engineer
M.D.S.
Mar 16th/66
Mr Henry Koch has been employed in the Engineer Office attached to Genl Sheridans Hd Qrs for two years. The service he has rendered to the Country in making surveys, sketches &c in the field, & in compiling maps in the office has been most invaluable. Always faithful, prompt and energetic in the performance of his duties, I do not hesitate to recommend / him in the highest terms to those desiring the services of a draughtsman. And more, during my whole intercourse with him I have never had occasion to find fault with him either socially or officially.
