Charles E. Leland to Charles M. Leland, 6 February 1862
Headquarters Co B 13th Regt Mass Vol
Williamsport Md Feby 6th 1862.

Dear Father.
I received the package that you sent this AM and also your letter. The writing paper was just what we I wanted and also the envelopes and stamps.

We have just got fixed here and are quite comfortable in our new bunks. We have a large stove in one end of the room, which heats up very well. I was on guard yesterday and last night at the locks. It was cloudy foggy and quite cool. It is raining to day and it is quite wet walking.

I am engaged in fixing up my bunk / &c but thought I would write you a little first. There is no news here of any consequence.

In my last letter I sent home ten dollars which is all that I can send at present as I need some for necessaries.

I have not got the True Flag for two weeks now but suppose that they will be along soon. I will write again soon and with love to Mother Ada Henry and yourself I am your affectionate son

Chas E. Leland

Write soon and oblige
