13th Regt Mass Vol Camp Stanton
Near Warrenton Junction Va May 11th/62
Dear Father.
I received your letter yesterday, and was very glad to hear from you. Our brigade expects to move to morrow. Where we are to go I do not know, but suppose to Fredericksburg or the Rappahannock.
I understand that Duryea's brigade relieve us. One of the regiments in his brigade the New York 105 arrived this afternoon, the rest will probably arrive soon. Duryea's brigade are from Alexandria, and came down on the road.
We heard of the battle at Williamsburg, and it was good news I assure you. McClellan will soon be in Richmond.
The weather is getting to be quite warm, and we are having warm days. I hope when we stop again that we will have as good a camping ground as we have here.
George Worcester sends his regards also Clark. I received those papers that you spoke about, and was glad to receive them.
There are is no chance to write any more as the mail goes to the depot soon.
Give my love to Mother, Ada, and Henry, and my regards to all my friends.
Love to Aunt Kate, and Uncle Henry.
Your affectionate son
Chas E. Leland
I will write again as soon as I can
