My Dear Julia
I had the pleasure yesterday of receiving yours of the 16th and was glad to hear from you once more I am enjoying very good health at present and hope this will find you the same This is a midling cold morning every thing is in full bloom all fruit trees is in blossom and has been for a week There has been no move in this Army yet General Rosecrans reviewed General Negleys Division this week
There is almost daily skirmishing going on handy here some thinks that the rebels is going to attact us here but if they know when they are well they will let it alone There is also good deal of talk about the rebels invading Kentucky but I dont think it will amount to much I have nothing more of importance to write it still continues to be cold today but I guess it will not last long I was very glad to hear from you for it is a long / time since I recd a letter from you until yesterday I will be very glad to get your picture still I have the other one that you sent me it is very nice yet still I would like to see what you look like by this time I suppose you have got the one I sent you before this time if it ever goes through I think from what you say that the little boys must be getting very large by the way they are going with the girls I guess you never kept / me much later than that but if I was there now I am not certain whether I would leave that soon I am expecting an other letter from you soon the boys is all siting in the tent talking so that I can scarcely write so I guess I will have to close soon I think that war will soon be over and then the soldiers will get home again Be sure and write soon for I love to hear from you I have a song I am going to send you so farewell my love
Yours truly
