Dear mother i am wel an well pleased we drill four hours a day it make a very prety show to see one thousand on parade evry eavning I have nothing no more to say only how to all of you well good by Thomas W Dees
 
but i want you all to rite to me if you all please i got mr burnside letter i want you all to rite to me an tell me how you all are giting a long /

Dear mother i take my pen in hand to let you no that I am well at this time an hope these fiew lines may find you all the same all of the boys is well we will leave here in a short time i think that we will go to iuca about 24 miles off we taken 15 cags of powder an cartages i had my picture taken to let you no that i had not fore got it T W Dees /
