Dear mother i take the pleashuer of riting you a fiew lines to let you no that i am well at this time an hope these fiew lines may find you all well we left here the other day an marched to iuka an staid there six days we got there on sunday morning an fri day eavning got in a battle four got wonded i went in an come out saft four got wonded in my company we come back to baldin i dont think iwill go in a nother battle the boys lossed all of theire cloths but i save mine / now i have never seen altimon yet i think i will see him in a day or so i got one yankee trick i will send it to poss
