George W. Young to Amaziah Young, 5 August 1863
Hospital No. 1. Louisville
August 5th 1863

Dear father I am well and my wound is doing well and I hope these few lines may find you all enjoying good health

I received a letter from Mother and yourself yesterday and one from Henry this morning Henry says Old Morgan made sad havoc with the old shot guns and rifles of Old Ripley I think the next raid the rebels make in Ind the people had better hide their guns and horses both and bury their greenbacks / their has been no order yet to send any more Indianans to their own state and if they dont hurry I will be well before it comes

as I have nothing to write I will quit

Give my respect to all

write soon
Geo. W Young
