Cornelius B. Campbell to George W. Weston, 20 June 1863
 "Gothem" 6th Mo. 20th 1863

Friend Weston:
I have been aching for weeks to hear from you direct. I (& Phebe) have been on the [?]—"toting" about from Vermont to this Babel for a good while. I am writing in J. B. Jones office. He goes to Low Moor to morrow evening. I send this by him to Emelia, whom I request to send to you. If it ever reaches you (which the Gods grant) pray write to me at Vineland New Jersey. We expect to reach there next week.

George—I have watched the papers to find something of the doings of the 26th but thus far fail. Of course, I have my fears that you may be among the fighters—& perhaps the wounded—and possibly worse than wounded. But I will hope till I hear. I have only to say keep up courage—"God & Liberty" will triumph & I begin to think sooner than most expect, Copperheadism must go in under—

"No matter where I roam" I shall not forget you—nor your family. I am not easy to get / attatched to people—as you may know—& am not very easy to get un-attatched when once hooked to them.

I close with a prayer to for your safety—& your return to your family—& the ultimate & speedy triumph of this war.

Yours with abounding
regard—
C.B. Campbell
