Dear Friend
I wrote you recently—but thought I would add in this that for a week I have been quite feeble & had some fever occasioned by a vomiting attack a week ago. I have been dieting closely, of course, one week—but, as I begin to eat, my strength returns, & I am feeling well to-day. We hope to go south in few days.
I see by the papers that there has been a good deal fighting about Vicksburgh but the Eastern papers do not say anything about the 26th so I am anxious to learn something more definitely about George. Please send me the / Journal, Tribune or Herald,—or anything that contains authority on the subject. Direct one to Granville—Wash. Co. N.Y. if you can do so at once—otherwise send it to Vineland Cumb. Co N.J. Please keep the monthly & In Agriculturist till I write again. Did I tell you I told Clausin (of Clinton) you would leave him a little butter—some time, on the old score?
Do not trouble yourself to pay Nicholas till he returns, or you know more of the debt—
I am not able to write such a letter to George as I would like to, but will, on hearing from you. Give me his address—& say to him in your next—that I have the same interest in him, his principles & family as ever. Phebe joins in regards to yourself & Geo—& children—
Yours truly C.B.C.
Please direct here—& of the letter can be ford here to us—the Atlantic paper—retain till I write again—
Can you send me the Cinton Herald—for 2 or 3 weeks back & till the story is closed: direct to N. Jersey.
