Emelia M. Weston to Friends, 20 December 1863
Low Moor Dec 20th 1863

Dear Friends.
Yours of Nov 23 is received also the Investigator. I have delayed writing so as to have something to write about, but will not wait longer. I have not been to Clinton yet, expect to go this week, will get the information you want if I can & look over the books. Friend Russell was here to day to look at your sleigh, says it is better than he can afford, but thinks I will sell it soon, as it is getting to be good sleighing. he did not like the Langstroth so I could not sell him I will keep them the hives a while longer perhaps I can do better.

I think Mr Landis had ought to do you some extra favor for that piff. I read it to all the neighbors / expect it will have its influence. I saw a notice of the antislavery meeting that had been. shall expect to see your faces next time you write. You speak of going to parties &c. There was one at Mr Palmers two weeks ago. his Uncle & wife 2 cousins from the East were here, that was the occasion of it.

I got a letter from Lizzie Jones, also a communication from George he says it is not satisfactory to me however I will send it to you next time I write if you would like to see it. The other night there was a circle at Palmers Lizzie H. was there she was influence but could not write or do any thing the influence passed of another influenced her & she wrote "my brother cannot write to night but will some other time  Ephraim"

Do you have circles if so I should think you would get a line from / George if it can be done

The Williamses have done very well this year, got the corn all picked & I had it hauled a month ago I have 300 bush. the frost injured it very much I have got it all to sort over

I have a little girl 12 years old staying with me I do all the chores myself. I find it pretty hard some of the coldest days. I have only 3 head of cattle 1 horse & 2 pigs so do not have a great deal to do.

I have not had the will opened yet shall do so next month. I waited till the new Judge took his seat. by so doing I could save 20 or 30 dollars. I thot worth while.

Ralph is well goes to school reads in words of three letters. Wendell is almost as big as Ralph talks as plain he is a fine boy I expect Miss Earhart to spend the holydays with me. she is my friend. you would like her. Johnson has gone into business at / Syracuse N.Y. Hugh is one of the editors of the Clinton herald. I have not seen him lately. I will not tire you any longer
