Elvina (?) to Unknown, undated
I shall have to tell you about my bonnet. I have got my Nepolitan put on to a pan trimed with black lace, black grepe, and a very little, quite narrow white ribbon with black edge. that is on the top and sides. in the inside is purple white and green, gray rush, purple black and white strings. there dont you think it pretty? it is pretty only such awful shape it is enough to kill. It only cost 3.11. Charles Townsend made it. you cant get a bonnet short of 8 and $6 at Peterboro. Do you remember Mother had a dress silk / bonnet. Aunt has got that fixed over, trimmed with black lace and purple flowers out side and in she had none of the trimming so did not cost her quite $2. There now what have you got. Aunt is going to get me a dress at Fitch Burg. I dont care wheather I have any thing or not. I am very indiferent about it, you know I do not care so much for dress as a great many.
