                        Dear Wife I will write a few more lines to day and let you know how we are geting along I have got a orange blossom to day and I got some ripe blackberis and I will send you too in the bloom I dont know as they will keep bot the beris look knice and so dos the blossom I am well it has got thru raining and it is very plesent we raised our tent to day we take too wide plank and nal them to gether and put the tent up on the edge and then we have made some too bunks one for ous one for Hirom he is sick yet we have got a good looking tent carpet on the flor I wish you could inspect our tent I tell you it looks fine the ordly haint got of the mumps yet it makes more for mee to do ed gowdy is back with us know En Graves has got back hear we have got too niger cooks know some of the men has big times with the wenches when I came hear I poot my bottle / of hair oil in my coat pocket in the side and the stopel got out and the oil all run on my clothes my box haint come yet I guess I shant get it george rowly haint got his yet Lieut J B Van Petten rote a letter abought our fight and sent it home to newark and they had it printed and sent it hear and I bought the paper and give 10 cents so you could see it I want you to let evry body see this paper I want folks to understand that we did not run you send this to rosailee and tell her to send it to ledgard I dont know how quick we shal run bot we did not run up the start we haint had no fight yet but I think we will have one he has made some mistakes the gun boat right name is cotton bot he has got Botton this haint right I have rote it to you it Cotton and I was so clost to her I could see the capten rebel Fuller
