Dear Lib I will write you a few more lines this morning and let you know how your dear Hosbond is geting along I cant get eny letters from you yet and you cant expect mutch of a letter from me bot I can tell you how I am dooing dear Lib I am geting along well my foot is not so sore as it was and I think I am dooing well I porbly shant get eny letters from you till port Hodson is takeing and they say they are agoing to take it to day Generl Banks made a speech to the men and told them they would be in the fort to day bot they will see hard fighting if they do go in dear Lib I spose the young folks is haveing a grait time there to day how I should like to be there and take my dear wife some where what a good time we would have bot if I was there I persume we would jest as lieves stay on fixly hill as to go eny whare if I was on fixly I would be satisfied would you dear There is a young / felow layes by the side of me he belongs to co G he was wounded in the head not very bad he was takeing sick yesterday morning and he haint eat eny thing since he is pukeing up his boots know there is one or too dyes here in this Hospital evry day there is a good meny that has to have there legs and arms takeing of and they are purty shure to dy there was one felow died yesterday morning with the feaver he died a affle death he was a single man dear Lib I cant more than half write seting up on my bunk it tires me out I like this gold pen very well dear Lib bot I cant write hear dear Lib I think you had better get that that money of church all of it and let some good man have it for a year dont let eny money with out a signer for I dont think there is eny body shure these times you must be carefol I think the jonson noat is safe and the beecher noat is if the signer is good and I sepose he is I wish you would see abought it we have / got to be carefoll I was dredfol carlis to loose as motch as I did in them cows if I was there I would get pay for the old cow and if I had ben there would not beat me on that law suit you know I sold my boots to Harlow Dodge in the 114 he was to pay me when pay day come I took a pare of shues of him we cald 1.00 that left 7.00 dollers and he has died so I guess I shall loose that meby I can get it of his brother I will lern not to trost folks I guess after a while I have a100 dollers coming to me the last of June I shall send that to you and you most poot out all you can and not youse eny more than you are oblige to and I know dear you wont how glad I am to think that I have got sotch a good and tru woming that I can trost eny whare I think you are more carefol than I am dear Lib I have jest ben drinking leomonade / There is a felow hear that byes the leomons and I have got some shuger that I draud and we have som affle good drinks I have good times reading your old letters I was reading one whare you sed sary ockimon was a going to run the gantlet I was wondering if she had got by the batries yet what a time there will be I like to read your old letters I am dredfol carefol abought eating I dont eat eny thing only toast I wish I could have you make it for me I mean to be carefol and a man has got to be here and he will be sick than know dear Lib I will finish I am tired out and I have wrestid some you nead not rite very often I sepose I will have 20 know when I get them I will have a good time reading I sepose the girles have rote to me bot the letters are up there give my love to the girles and mother and except this from you dear Hosbond
