Dear Lib I will start another letter to day sence I wrote to you I have wrote to Charly walch and to mary and to Pery Milks last night we our haveing a school of all the nonkimishond officers we have too a week tuesday and thursday night it holds a hour I am as good a schooler as there is they come up from the hospital and wanted a man to set up our boys have a goodeal of guard duty to do so I volenteerd to go and set up there was a sarg from co D set up with me I tell you Dear they are sick ed gowdy was in the room whare I was he has got so he can walk all around they thought I was real good to come and set up with the sick we had a very good time at too a clock we found some bread and tea and shugar and we had a good breckfast and I dont have to drill eny to day I have ben doown to town and the box has not come yet Dear lib I have had a good wash to day I washed me all over and poot on clean clothes we poot some pickets acrose the bio to day and the rebs drove them in our men shot as fast as they could and our land batries throwd fore or five shels in to them and the gun boats come up and the rebels run them / and our men chased them up I hope we will leave here and go and fight it makes me so mad to see them chase our men I am so sleepy I cant write I dont know when I shal finish this letter so good day dear
Saturday Dear Lib I will write a little more today our boy that was in squiremish yesterday sed he fired some 15 times we could see the hole of it it was jest acrose the bio they made our men hunt thear holes first they run doon to the boat the boat they rode acrose on we had more men there a loading ties and they went back and drove them then I sopose my turn will come to go over poorty soon I wanted to go over yesterday we haint driled eny to day I have ben cleaning up all day and I have worked hard Generl Weitzel is a going to inspect our tents and gunes and have a generl inspection my box haint come yet I am looking evry day for it I expect something good Lib you sed you had sent me a spoon in the box I will send you a rebel spoon our boy got it yesterday he got six he give me one and Botner one hirom Burrell has got one he give him 15 cents for hisen so it will keep your stock good I am dredfol glad you sent a spoon to mee I should keep this one if you had not rote you had sent mee one I will send you the boy I told you I wanted I found / on the blanket this morning I dont think it is so hard to have a child as you think it is I will have them hearafter if you will agee to it haint this a fine one I did not have eny one to help me get this as you did I shant have to pay five doolers as I did for netty I had it and you can name it.
