Eliza R. Lewis to William W. Williams, 29 June 1862
Newark June 29th/62.

Dear Friend Bill,
Sunday eve. And nearley Church time but I see that Sister Jane has been writing to Johney and as I have not hird a word from there, I thought I would just write a line to inquire the reason, as I have written to you this last three weeks and as yet have received no answer

And fearing that there had been a letter lost / I thought it best to enclose this note in Janes letter. And I also beg an explanation to your silence (In not writing)

If you wish to drop the correspondence I should think all all the more of you to be canded with me and not to keep me in suspense I am very well at presant and hope you are the same and if I am doing wrong in writing two, for your none, I beg to be forgiven for this once. I enclosed a kind of a miniture in my letter which I have the case but did not send it. Miss Anna Lewis and Hattie Lewis called for me to go / to Church this morning but it rained so hard we did not get started It has been shoury all day.

I have written much more than I had antisipated and if I have said to much I beg to be pardoned as I now have no time to review this, no more

Onley, I will expect a reply to this, if I am not asking to much.

writen in the greatest of hast, and will not stop to apologise

Your Friend
Lib Lewis
