Monday April 27th/63
 
Dear Sister Jenny
 
I can only write a few lines as it is near roll call now
 
            I am well and hope you enjoy good health as I do at presant
 
            Four of the Columbus boys are now on furlough to Columbus and four of the Columbus boys are now here they came back last Friday I will go home alone then I can go and come when I will please I will stay at home 3 or 4 days I will have / to come back on the Newark Mansfield and Sandusky RR
 
            We had a dress parade tonight they are very pretty the old Major says I must plaster the Church they are building here I will have to
 
            The boys are turning somersault handspring and all mischief I muss now close by saying
 
                        Be a good girl
 
I will soon come home to see you all
