Dear Father
It is threw the mercies of a great protector that I have the opertunity of droping you a few lines by which you will find that I am well greatley hoping these lines may com safe to hand and find you all well you must excuse me for not writeing before now for I have not had the chance to write latley we have been fixing to march and has been marching for som time and I dont no when we will stop nor where we will go before we do stop and so when you write direct your letter to 60th Regt NC V. Preston's Brigade, Tullahoma Tenn and write son for I expect there will be a large fight here son and when it comences it will be a larger fight than the Murfreesboro fight was. as I have not time to write much I will com to a close saying I hope to here from you son
