S C Laurence District Dear Brother and sister i seet my self this nite to drop you a few lines wich will in form you that we are all well at this time hoping when those few lines comes to hand tha may find you all well and all donging wel dear Brother i received your letter to day i was glad to her from you and was glad to no you was all well Maron Riddle is a bout well and he started back to his Company to day and if J C Brown is a live he is in the hands of the yanks yet our father is well and all the connexion so far as i no i will leve home this week my Company is at Knoxvill in tennesee tha hav bin in a nother fite and three of them is wounded i would be glad to see you all and i do hope i will you can write to / Rosa and she can send the leters to me Back your leters to Powers shop PO i hope this war will soon close and let us all cum home to stay tho i see no chance i think we have all suffred a nuff
John sais tel Bery houdy and that he must cum and see him every thing is very hi her tho my folks has made a nuff to live on i have nothing new to rite to you so i will close my leter by asken God to be with us all and bless us and save us all in haven rite soon So no more at present
