my Dear little son I take the pleasure of writing you a few lines to let you now wee air all well as comon hoping you the same i received your lovly letter and was so glad to hiar from you but o how bad i want to see you wee have had a dul christmas if you could a bin at home i could a injoyed it [paper hole] i hope you will be with me this time another year henry westall is in the horspittl yet he sent his mother two nice / presents it was 2 [torn]silk hankerchief and a ring wee wanted to send you somthing but wee could not and wee will give it to you when you come i want to see you very bad s dont now when to do well maggie is gon to work in the shue shop olie and silas went to the christ tree and tha got severl presents so i wish you a happy new year and all good wishes  a mother could wish so i will close for this time your loving mother write soon
