I received a letter from M. M. Childress and T. D. Childress dated August the 15th which gave me the greatest satisfaction to lern that you was all well and had not frgotton me as it had been some time since I had got a letter from enny of you I want you to wright to me as often as you can and let me know how you are all giting on. I reckon I can do without you sending enny money for a while as they say that they are going to pay us some money before long as three months will bee out the 12th of this month if I need enny I can send you word which I may do if I do not get that.
 
if you make the shirt put pockets in the bosom either inside or out enny couler would do so it is woolen but dark would not shew dirt so quick.
