At fort Haskell, all quiet. little cloudy but warm. canonading at the left in the afternoon, had to fall in at 5pm but nothing happened untill at 10-30pm when our whole line from fort McGil[?] to fort Hell got aroused especially in front of F. Steadman where our pickets got driven in & a sharp fire was kept up untill 2 oclock in the morn

At fort Haskell, all quiet in our front but firing on the left. weather fine. got orders in the evg. at 10 oclock to open and keep up untill 2 oclock next morning, wich was done.
Lt Stahl got back from fourgh. and were ordered with the other section to fort Hell
Sunday            2.
At fort Haskell, at 4am we opened again very severe up to fort Morton and our pickets made a faint on the Appomatox took some forts & prisoners. at the same time our men at the made a charge oppiside fort Davis & took 6 forts the same time Gen. Sheridan got in their rear and drove in every direction. the Rebs made several charges on one of those main forts in front of ft Davis but got repulsed with severe slaughter, all quiet during the night.
Monday 3. At fort Haskell, at 3.30am we got orders not to fire any more for our men were advancing on to Petersburg got the town by 5am went over there myself at 6am left fort D. at 12m. went to camp turned in two pieces to City Point

At the caisson camp, got orders to report to Gen. Willcox 1st D. 9th Corps at Petersburg. started at 2pm and went in rear of Petersburg, stoped over night.

Calvary brought 240 prisoners
 
Thursday         6.
started at 7am went about a mile on the wrong road, brought 3 pieces of Rebel Artill. with us, passed small squads of prisoners. made about 12 miles and went in camp close to the R.R. heard canonading all day towards west.
