Well sister Mary As I hav got timb now I will giv you a history of the world as I thinck I am once more in the hands of Uncal sam it was not long ago that I was with you but it does not take many hours to take us many milds a part so far that maby we never shall meat again like what we was on the 4 of July meby that we may meet again in the coars of a year but I thinck that if we keep up good corage that there is a timb when we may meet once more I feal a little down in the mouth to day but I am a going to put the / best foot forward that is the only way to git a long I am on my way to my regament now I am in Newyork now and shall go to my regament next week and then I can tell you a bout my discharg the Surgon says that I never can do any duty in the regament again I am in a fort now on the Island cawled govners Island it is a bout a half a mild from the sitty we hav a bout 1000 hear now it is right to the foot of Broadway we hav a good view of the sitty and if I was a free man I would stop hear a spell it is coming lecton timb and then there is a going to be a chang in the / United states meby it will be a chang in the war if it is not endad dont feal bad when you read this for when I wright again I shall feel better and meby hav a dis charg in my hands but dont expect me untill you hear from me no more this timb this from your unfortunate Brother Wm W Harvey
