Sister Mary I just had a letter from you and was very glad to hear from you but you must not feal bad for me for I am awl right you wanted to no what I was agoing to my regament for if you want to no I will tell you it is to git my discharg meby I shall git my discharg so that I will git homb this winter there is a rebel gunboat within five milds of our fort this morning I am a going to Fortis monroe to morow I guess and when I git there I shall go to peaters burgh where my regament is meby I shant go this week dont no for surtanty my / hand has not got well yet and dont no when it will git well it is about the saim as it was when I left homb it was my chois to go to my regament for if I git there I shall try for my dis charg this letter is short I shant right a gain till I git my regament so you must not wory about me keep up good corage and I will do the saim so no more this timb this from your brother
