Camp Near Fairfax Station

 

Well Father

I recived your letter some time ago I was glad to hear that you wer all well I have not been sick since I left home wee have moved since I recived your last letter to fairfax Station it a bout 3 mils from the Court house wee got pay for two months the other day iam a going to send home 10 dolars by Mr Chapman he will leav it to Mr Harrises an you can get it thair I wish if you have achance to send mee a bottle of Harrises elixer or some other cough medison the surgens do not keep any nor any thing elce if you do not feel very well / go up to the Surgens in the morning he will say lets see your tongue light duty that excuses you from guard duty or Battalion drill but you have to drill Compny drill an if you are puty hard up he will give you quarters that excuses you from all duty tha do not have only one cind of medison for all but dam thir souls I do not have to troubble them any an if I live to get home Frost will get his ass kicked I have got a bad cold now I am well all but that Albert Haris is well an all the rest of the boys give my respecs to Mr Hndry an tell him his boy is well give my respecks to my frinds if I have any

            Well I had just got my letter seald up when I recived a letter from you an I thought I would a few lines more you said you haid got a box started for Albert an mee wee wer glad to hear that Ben I have not got any rings on hand now but I will make you one an send it in a letter as soon as I get time an I will write again when wee get the box Albert wrote home last knight
