Well Father
I recived a letter from you to day an was glad to hear that you wer all well an had recived our checks thair was one hear for mee when I come in last night I have been down to bristo Station for the past weeak an got back last night yesterday Mosbeys Caverly maid a raid in to our first Vigina Caverly tha wer all on saddled an it would gon hard for our men if it had not been for the fith NY york witch wer camped very near Mosbey did not now that tha wer thair It was about six mils / from whair I was wee heard that wer fighting on the train com down an tha wanted some of ous to go down on the train for a guard an I went down but wee wer to lait to see the fun wee wer about 30 mints to lait but the dead an wounded lay thair it looked tough thair was 10 kiled an 26 wounded of the Rebs an one kild an 13 wounded on our sid I have sent my over coat home an one shirt the shirt is don up in the coat the box is directed to H S Wright thair is 7 of ous got up the box thair will bee about 25 cents to be pay I suppose a peac wee are all well from that plaice
