well Mary I guess that you begin to think that I am not agoing to answer your letter but I have ben very buisy lately so that I could not write I have ben to Boston and have just got back I had a nice time down there I saw lots of Mary C down there and thay was clipers to you but I came home to cristmas and we had a nice time to it is to night to the uper house we have had three weeks school I have ben 2 days and left Stevy has ben one half day and went home the scollars all dislike / the teacher and thay shut her out doars the scholars all left the school so thay have turned her out and we shall have no school at present her name is Nettie Ayers well Mary you remember when you and I wished dont you and what I wished to well I got my wish as I told you that I would I was there when she gave him the mitten one sunday night he grunted and trod around she said he asked her to be his wife you asked me why I did not come down to the pond I did not know that you was there untill the next day noon Father said that you was down there monday I should have come down if I had none it in time / but I did not I am very sory I should like to have you come up hear if you will come I will come and meet you if you will let me know whare to meet you. how do you like your school is there any good smart girls that go to school if there is I will come down to school I wished that I could go to school there wall Etter B is at unkle Marshells now agoing to school Ed gave her the mitten crismass night so he told me I was there the next morning and she said she gave Ed the mitten last night so I guess that thay both gave oneanother the mitten she goes with / every one all around the corner so thay say well Mary have you ben to any more apple parings lately I have not nor any potato pealings nor have not eaten any squash pies I saw Clarinda to day she is at home now so I guess that I shall go down and sharpen some more nives thay ar geting dull I will close for this time please rite soon and tell all the nues from your best friend
