William H. Hunter
William H. Hunter was born around August 1854 in Joliet, Illinois, to Thomas and Lucinda Hunter. His father was a blacksmith who owned $10,000 of real estate and $300 of personal property by 1860. He grew up and attended school in Joliet, and by 1880, he was working as a coal dealer. He married Mary Turner on November 13, 1878, and they had at least two children: Caroline, born around 1879; and Robert, born around 1884. He worked as a commercial agent in Joliet, and he died there in March 1920.
