Dear Sister Parna
well I have been thinking of writing for some time but have not got at it. I got your card written the 5th glad to hear you were all well this leaves us well. it is hard work for me to right any more or to get at it we have not had but little snow yet it sleeted some last night some but has cleared off to day all week it had been verry nice they are putting up a verry nice school hous in our district 20 by 30 with nice new seets it will cost about six hundred dollars seats and all 
 
the wheat is not looking verry well it has been to dry we have in 75 acres have not got our corn all out yet. how I wish I could have ben with you when Deb and Olliver was there Lee got a letter from Rob he said he was not verry well and Frank was on the grunting list every onc in a while Deb rote when Lou was out in Nebrask and said perhaps he would come and see us I was in hopes he would and I would have tryed to gone home with him but perhaps it was as well Ester was sick and I should have been neaded at home. Carrie has gone to one of the / neighbours to help them sew. Wesley has traded off his land and is staying here this winter what he will do is more than I can tell he talks of leaving in the spring he got tired of batching there is but fiew that will stick to it long if they can help it
the Aunt Mary Polk that Ester speeks of is Wesley Polks wife Mothers youngest brother.
 
what was them polkes'es names in Plainfield where I used to go often hir sisters name was Sarah Smith and what was that girls name that used to be at Uncle Thomass'es I think she is living in Russell keeping boarding hous / I was up to Russell this fall and went there to dinner and there was a man there talking to hir about his wife going to Joliet I asked hir if she was from there she said used to live with Hoosier Smiths folks when she was a child and knew Uncles folks well and when I told hir Fatha was living in Kansas Sity she said she would go and see hir if she knew where to go to. Rob said Uncle had come out to see hir this fall how I wish I could see him
