Samuel J. Tucker to Sister, 26 June 1869
Monticello June 26 1869
Dear Sister
I take this opportunity to write in answer to your letter I received yesterday. I am sorry that your health is so bad again but I hope it will soon be better in regard to your working with Machine we think that you can get more or less without any doubt, but you need not give yourself any anxiety on that score. one great object with you should be the recovery of your health & then we will see what further can be done. I think it more healthy here than in N.Y. & especially for those that have weak lungs &c. There is no doubt that you can get along here better than there you may not find every thing here just as you expect, but you should take in consideration your health & the cheapness of living here &c I think you will like it well. If I had the means at present to come out there after you I would come but I can not I will say come & dont feel that you will be burdensome
Yours as Ever
Saml J Tucker
