Lewis V. Tucker to Unknown, undated
Well Ma you must not cry because I did not write this letter to you for I have not had time to write two since I wrote to you last
When I write to you again I hope that I shall have some money to send you for I expect to get my pay again in a day or two probably tomorrow. I told you in my last letter that I sent you that I had sent you another box of / things I think that by the time that you get this that the box will probably be there the contents of the box is worth at least fifty dollars for all the things does not seem to be of much account. When I got the muslin that is in there I thought of having it made up in shirts for me here but I found that I could do better than that by sending it to you for I can get shirts here now for nothing the muslin did not cost me anything nor the flannel or oiled silk so you see that it was cheap enough
[top margin upside down]
I will write again to you in a day or two if I can get time it has been a long time since I got a letter from you L. V. Tucker
