Head Qrs. Battery F 1st Pa Arty
Camp near R. Station Va
Friend Louisa your kind letter came to hand finding me well, hoping this may find you the same.
we had a heavy rain last knight, causing the streams to swell & overflow, making the roads very muddy.
I seen Brother Silas he is well & sends his love to you. he likes his place so far he is in the 149th Regt Pa, Bucktail Brigade. I have been to see him twice. it done me much good to see him the first one of my friends I have seen since I left home and you may judge it was a pleasant meeting.
I am pleased to hear that you have been attending the meeting and hope you may be a good girl. I would love to be there to go to, but I cant go. Also the parties I would love to attend, and have some of the good old times
I have not heard from old times Henry since I heard from him the time before. I look to hear from him soon. I often look back and think of the good old times we used to have in times past and gone, when me & him were together
well I suppose William Baker has got himself a brand knew wife before this time well, bully for him. I wish him all the good luck
I cant write you a long letter this time hoping you will excuse me. I send you my love and best respects wishing you to write to me often and tell me the news. from your most affectionate friend
