My Dear Laura.
I have not heard from you in some time and will write as we have marching orders and expect to move in the morning in the direction of Hatchers Run and South Side R Road but tis cloudy and may rain, which will in all probability prevent the contemplated move. I cannot tell but think we will go. I dont care as I am willing to fight another battle which we hope may be the last. I am quite sure we can gain the fight and if not end the struggle, give it a telling blow. we will hopeful. the sick have all been sent back and the sutlers are going which makes me sure of a move.
Lt Wireman has gone to Hd Qrs to make some arrangements. Almost morning. We are alone but I think we can manage the Battery. we will try it. The roads are in good condition but a little rain will soon make mud.
I have no time to write you a long letter. hoping you will not think my will is not good enough please write soon. I am so anxious to hear from you. My kind regards to all your family & Griers
I remain as ever your true and devoted friend
