Elizabeth Lemon
Elizabeth Lemon (maiden name: Blair) was born on August 19, 1829, in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, to David Blair and Margaret Steele. Her father was a Presbyterian minister, and the family owned $9,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property by 1860. Elizabeth married Robert Lemon around 1848, and they had at least five children: Margaret, born around 1851; Jennie, born around 1855; Irene, born around 1857; Roberta, born around 1858; and David, born around 1862. The family lived in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and her husband worked in the medical field. By 1860, they owned $27,000 of real estate and $3,000 of personal property. Her husband died in December 1863. Elizabeth continued to run her own household, and by 1870, she owned $7,000 of real estate and $1,000 of personal property. She died in Pennsylvania on August 30, 1888.
