"The Star Spangled Banner," Poem, undated
The Star Spangled Banner

Oh! say, Can you see by the dawn's
            earley light,
What so proudley we hailed at the
            twilight's last gleaming?
Whoes stripes and bright stares, hrough
            the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were
            so gallantly streaming;
And the rockets red glair, the
            boms bursting in air
Gave proofs through the night that
            our flag was still there
                        Chorus
Oh! say, does that star spangled banner
            yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the
            home of the brave? /

On the shore, dimly seen through
            the mist of the deep,
Whare the fows haughty hoste in dread
            silence repares.
What is that which the breeze, o'er the
            towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conseals,
            half discloses?
Now it catches the gleaming of the
            mornings first beam;
In full glory reflected, now shines
            in the streams.
                                    Corus
The star spangled banner

And whare is that band who so vauntingly
Strove)            Mid the havoc of war and the
                        battles confusion
A home and a Country they'd leave
            sees no more
There blood has washed out their
            foul footsteps pollusion /
No reffuge could save the hireling
            and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom
            of the grave.

And whare is that band who so
            vauntingly swore
Oh! thus be it ever, when free men
            shall stand
Between there loved homes and war's
            desolation!
Blessed with victory and peace may
            the heaven-rescued land
Prase the power that hath made
            and preserved as a nation
Then Concur we must when our course
            it is just
And this be our motto: In God is
            our trust
The star spangled Banner /

When our land is illumined
            by liberties smile
If a fow from within strikes a
            blow at her glory
Down down with the traitor that
            dares to defile
The flag of her stares and the page
            of her story
By the milions enchained with
            our birthright was gained
We will keep her bright blazon
            forever sustained
            Chorus
The star spangled banner in
            triumpt shall wave
While the land of the free is
            the home of the brave

            End I hope
