Dear Wife having time this morning I will write you a fiew lines out the boat is loading coal will leave soon for the south we have had good luck so far the particulars of the trip I will give you when I geet through my health is good hope to keep so the corps is two weeks a head of us
 
Let if you donot hear from me as often as you think you should you need not feel bad over it for I am situated so I cannot write as often as would / like to you must write as often as convenient for I have time to read letters most every day
           
Let I am hopefull that we soon will be cumming back to our own states I cannot see why we should not there is an order for mustering out the veterans or 70 thousand of them that will not leave many regiments in the field
           
Let I donot know when I can write again but hope to soon but if I cannot you will know the reason with this will close hope to hear from you soon Love to all
