Robert F. Twombly to Rosamond A. Twombly, 21 September 1861
Tamworth Sept the 21 1861
Dear Amand
I recived your letter this morning that you sent by Uncle Henry Wiggin. in it you stated that you thought of leaving Mrs Wiggin I read your letter to Father & Brother. they think you are running a great risk in doing so, and also that it would not be right and then the man might fail & then you would lose the whole, & you might work there a few weeks and and then the buisness might stop wich is very likely in thease times and then of course Mrs. Wiggin would not take you back after she got a new girl, wich if you stay with her and you both like you will have constant employment. you may not get as much pay as you could make in the Shop. Father & mother say so dont leave at any rate if / Mrs Wiggin will keep you. Father does not like it at all. you had better not leave if you know when you are well off, dont leave
I cant stop to write any more I wrote you a letter last Sunday and also one to Miss Emma wich if course you have got before this We have formed a Drill Company at Fowlers Mills. Mr Leslie is Captain & Robert F. Twombly Esq is the Captains Clerk for the company last night we had 10 out to night we shall probaly have 20 we shall probaly in a short time have 40 or 50 they come in from the Village Great Hill and all around old & young.
