It rained last night and sprinkles a little this morning. I got a letter from Father last night and Eliza to. they are all well. want to see me I guess by their writing pretty bad, but they wont verry soon I recon. A fellow by the name of Thomas last night had his finger almost torn off by the accidental discarge of a pistol he belonged to our Co. the ball went through the pants leg of his brother just above the knee, but did not hurt him any. A crazy fellow from Vt. put his bayonet to his heart and then fell forward on the floor of his tent it almost went to his heart he don it to kill himself. they though he would die all day they the next day they carried him down to the city hospital and he is a geting over it they say Cant stop to write any more   write soon
