Dear Children this morning after a snow storm last night I will write I recd papers las eve & was glad of them well we still live I have had a slight cold. the maid coughs courisly once in while & has a whineing way I wish you could see her sweep only the middle of the floor never the base or out side & when she is out I take the broom & move the chairs & sweep & under the table & when she sweeps she throws the dust & dirt 3 feet I let her go on for weeks I found it would not do & under the table I was a shamd she dont move the table out & lint & dirt gathers there she commenced to sweep yesterday the same I asked her if she would please to sweep the base & under the table she said o yes so she did in her way. she leaves evry / most always where she uses it or where it comes handy the holder on the table towel on the sink I pick after her a good deal she says nothing all is quiet & peace she is a fair pastry cook but beans or meat she is not I have never found eny fault or had eny hard words but she would be firey if she dared to her looks show it plainly I should rather have Ethel for what she could do but as I dont think I shal try to keep house after this year I will get a long as best I can she is verry quiet as I told you before & well she may be. Old Lill has past away & I am glad she sufferd so pet is the smartest kit that I ever saw has caught 3 large rats & one red squirel Mrs Williams called on Mrs Oward as he calls her Howard she did not like the looks she has called on Mrs Bickford. Gilman is not so well I hear I keep 2 fires Addie says some one is knocking at the door English you know. well I think Bickford will have a hard one to get through / if he aint paid all. his daughter has gone to Dover her Dr has ben up I didn't see him I dont think he stoped more then one day I have ben corrosponding with a Med Co called the Empire Medical Co. Smith Building. Court Square Boston Mass they say they can cure my complaint they have sent me a number or circulars & books of cures of a great meny people of the same complaint if I could see them & talk or some one would for me I should be glad it apears that it is a nice Co & honest Co.
I have Recd $10 of El wiggin & I will enclose $5. to you in this & will send some more when I get it. there is a man coming to morrow or next day to saw wood he sawed for me last winter his name is Murphey he works all around here I can hear the maid grone & whine while I am writing it is a habbit she has some are always doing that way Ihink I think she has gaind in flesh her appetite is good better then mine verry much better Just ben to diner /
well as I have no news to write I shall Cose by giving you all my love & best wishes
