Maria H. Friend
Maria H. Friend was born around 1849 in Etna, Maine, to Ellis and Mary Friend. Her father was a farmer who owned $2,400 of real estate and $1,440 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in Etna, and she married William T. Hill on June 4, 1879. The couple had no children. They lived in Melrose, Massachusetts, and her husband worked as a grain dealer. She earned a living as a teacher. They moved to Somerville, Massachusetts, in the late 1800s, and her husband died in 1911. She died in Somerville on January 12, 1928.
