Camp Near Fredricksburg Virginia—Aprile 20th 1863
My dear Sarah I received your letter on yesterday it was dated Aprile 12th I was very sorry indead to hear that you was not well but I do hope that you are better by this time please write to me and let me know how you are dear Mussy I hope that you are not fret your self about me keep in good serrits and I do think that the time will come before long that I will be permit to return to you and my home Dear Mussy we ware paid 6 months pay on the 16th Aprile that evening I wrote to you and enclosed ten dollars to you/

I do hope that you will receive it and on the 17th I expresed sixty dollars to you call on Squire Marlin and you will receive this if it goes safe did not ha the postage on it what ever the postage is you will pay it to Marlin I thought this the safest way to send it as all the Jefferson boys was sending all to him in one pile together I also wrote to you on the 18th These letters you have not yet had time to receive but hope you will in a few days from now I hope you will
The wether is warm and pleasant here now/but raining today we have not marched away from this place yet we have had marching orders for some time back we do not know what hour we will be ordred to move whare it will be we do not know you stated that Danieal Horam wanted to by my gun if you can get two and a half dollars for it you may lit him have it as it is out of order and is of no use to us now since Macky died you state that you rented the one half of your house to Mrs Scott I hope that you and them may live agreable if she fails in/paying you the rent turn hir out and try and get some person to rent it or some boy or girl to live with you The peach trees has been in full bloome for the last ten days I enclose a virginia peach blossom to you dear Mussy I am in very good health at present and do hope that you have got well and engoying good health at present. Jacob Haugh was sent to the Washington hospitle on yesterday Lewis Divler and Wm Woods has got pretty well now
