My dear Sarah. on the first or 2nd day of this month I wrote you a letter which I presume you have received before this time in that letter I stated to you that I expected to be home to sea you some time this weeke on the day that I wrote to you I had applied for a furloe and I did expect that I would a have got it but it has been refused so my dear Mussy I can not get home at this time which I doubt not that it will be a great disapointment to you as well as myself as I would a liked so well to have got home to sea you but dear Mussy I will make another application in about two weekes a gain and if I can succede in getting a furlow I will go home and sea you all/
dear Mussy on the day before I wrote my last letter to you I drawd two months pay I have been keeping this mony to bair my expences home and if I do not get a furloe on my next application I will send it home to you
dear Sarah you state in your last letter that you are agoing to set up your cole stove this winter and burn cole as the stove you have is not suatable for you to do any cooking on. I think that it would be better for you to by yourself a good parlor stove with two holes on the top so that you can do your cooking on I think that you can get a good stove of this kind for 15 or 20 dollars you can do as you think best in regard to the stove. And dear Mussy you aught to get some person to cut you as much wood as you think that/you will burn this winter before the winter sets in so that you will have no trouble in getting wood in bad wether dear Sarah as scoone as you receive this letter write to me and let me know how you are getting along
dear Mussy I am well at present and I do hope that these lines will find you engoying good health I have never received but two newspapers from you since I came to this Camp if you have sent me any more I have not received them on yesterday I sent you and grand pap a paper I hope you will get them give my love to grand Pap and the rest of my friends and dear Sarah I conclude by sending my love to you hoping that I may have the luck to get home to sea you before long dear Mussy I enclose in this letter 26 sweet kisses for you from your affectinate husband
