Brother Sam—
I recd the draft last friday night I believe and have got the money to day. It will be all I need I guess to take me home. Our papers are all made out and awaiting the examination of the Mustering officer. If they are all right we may be mustered out in two or three days. If wrong it will take longer. I hardly know when we shall reach York State. May have to wait for transportation. It is not known where we rendezvous after reaching the State. Elmira, Auburn and Geneva are all talked of. I suppose I shall not get my pay in a month or two after I reach home. Shall have to make returns of property to Washington &c. perhaps have to go there
It is very warm. You need not look for me home till you see me walking into the door. May be two or three weeks. Love to all
Hope this may be my last from Virginia
Your Affct Bro
Charles E Reed

Tues. Morn. This afternoon the Corps is reviewed by Gen Ord. Our last review I hope. Cloudy but warm. I am feeling pretty well now.
