Charles E. Reed to Samuel P. Reed, 7 June 1865
Camp 148th NYVols
June 7th 1865

Brother Samuel
I write this morning to tell you that you need write no more letters to me as I expect to be home in two weeks from now. We shall probably leave here in a week at the longest perhaps in four days. Get our pay in Elmira, rather guess the Regt will break up there. I have not received the check yet hope it will come soon. I shall need it when we go home as I have hardly enough to keep me till I reach home.

We are at work on the muster out roll it is a large job to make them out. they are so particular about them. It is about 5½ oclock in the morning cloudy and warm

No news.

Love to all
C. E. Reed
