Brother Sam
I wrote in my last letter (yesterday) that John C. Berry a member of Co "G" was to go home on a furlough and that if you saw fit you might send me some money by him when he returns. He goes to Canandaigua. You might leave the money at Dr Simmons office and he will call for it You can do as you like about sending it. I told him he could call at the office and see, and if there was any, to bring it along He will have to return about the 10th of June I have been thinking the matter over and I think it would be as well to get a check on the National Bank and send it in a letter. I can get it checked at the National Bank in Richmond or if we / we should go to Washington I could get it there. I guess you had better send enough for me to get a sack coat. I want to save my dress coat and it is so warm A coat will cost me $15. To day has been pleasant We have not been to Cold Harbor yet, did intend to go tomorrow, but the report is to night that we will have to go to the city to receive the 6th Army Corps which is to pass through I suppose on the road to Washington. I think it would have paid you to have gone to Washington to have seen the great review. I wish it was so you could come here on a visit. I suppose your hands are full now. I keep about so.so. all the while, doing duty when they call on me, which is not very often

Hear nothing particular about being discharged yet. Our turn will come after a while. I wish I had something for Willie He will have to take up with my love I wish I could see the boy—I suppose I shall hardly know him.

Love to all
Yours in haste
Charles E Reed
