My dear Sarah
I have just returned from the Post office very much disappointed in not receiving a letter from you to day. The last letter I received from you was dated Oct 12th in it you stated that you ware not very well, and not receiving a letter from you since, I almost conclude that you are sick or something the matter with you, that you have not wrote to me this weeke back. as I generialy have been receiving letters from you almost every weeke since I left home. Dear Mussy write to me immediatly and let me know how you are and in case you are not able to write to me your self get some person to write for you as I will be very uneasy untill I hear from you my dear love/
dear Mussy I wrote a letter to you on last Satterday I also sent to you two papers since and one or two to grand Pap I hope you have received them I am still in this camp and am getting along as usial I have not much to do and therefore I have a very easy time here, ever since I came I hear from my Regement every now and then it is in frunt on the lines and the boys has some fiting to do occaisnely thy are about 25 miles from this place. Thy have been some Exitement felt here for some time back it is feared here that the rebels will make an attack on Washington the athorties here has been very buisey for some time back throwing up intreanchments and other works to strenthin the Citty from an invasion in case the enemy should beat back our forces and attack the Citty
My dear Sarah this is about all I have/to write at present except to inform you that I am well at this time and I do hope my dear Mussy that these lines will find you restored and engoying good health again please give my love to all equiring friends I conclude by sending my affectinate love to you also except the 26 sweet kisses I send to you my love.
