Dear Sister
Your letter came yesterday quicker than usual. Last week we had considerable rain yesterday it rained nearly all day last night had a thunder shower This forenoon had regimental inspection. It is very muddy. Almeron was here last wednesday What good news we have from Sherman It is very quiet here I have not mustered yet because in the company I am assigned to they lack 4 men
Col Murray went north last week to get some men. Perhaps I may be this week guess not though I was a little disappointed but think it will make no difference in the / end. I have a good many friends here and they will bring the thing around right. The paymaster is expected every day now I shall send no money home this time for I shall need it to buy some clothes. My Post came yesterday the time is out Apr 1st I guess it will not pay to have it sent through the summer Has John hired out yet I cant think of anything to write so will not try. Am well and hearty—
Love to All
Your Affc't Brother
